Country Dog Bakery was started by Dr. Ron Epps and his wife, Barbara. After more than 20 years of clinical practice, we sold our small animal clinic and moved to central Texas. Dr. Ron has retired from daily veterinarian practice and is now the director for the Veterinary Technology program at McLennan Community College in Waco.

During the 22 years he was in practice, Dr. Ron was repeatedly asked by his clients what treats they could give their dogs who were on medically restricted diets. Other than a few specialized dog foods, there wasn't much available, so we set out to fill that void. We've started with the four most common conditions: overweight dogs, and dogs with food allergies, bad breath and diabetes. We've researched the ingredients and tried different recipes. We've tested them on our dogs (all four of them), our families' dogs and our friends' dogs. We think you and your dog will love these treats. And these treats aren't just for special-diet dogs - any dog will roll over and beg for them.
